Jackie Gotroe

This site exists to honor the rockabilly singer Jackie Gotroe aka Jack Gautreaux. Jackie officially released only 4 singles between 1958 and 1960 but his "legend" lives on to this day. The songs Lobo Jones on Vortex and Raised on Rock n Roll/Rock it to the Moon on Rhythym have been reissued and repackaged dozens of times on CD and vinyl over the past 40 years. Jackie went on to record Golden Spur for Keen records as a jingle for Golden Spur wine and in 1960 recorded Childs Play and Carolina Moon for Decca as Jackie Powers. There were two other singles recorded for Decca that have never seen the light of day. The first is Strolling to School and the second is No Money Down.
